God is a strong tower
Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.
Talk about it
Yahweh is God's own name. A strong tower is a tall, safe building where people ran when danger came. When you feel scared, you can run to God by praying. He hears you, he is always with you, and you can tell a grown-up too.
Try it today
Build a tower out of blocks or cushions and say the verse when it is done.

When do you feel scared? What could you pray then?
For the grown-up
God’s “name” means who he is: his character and his promises. This is a good bedtime verse for anxious children. The next verse (18:11) contrasts it with a rich man trusting his money as his “strong city”, which is a good conversation for older kids.
