Let your father and your mother be glad! Let her who bore you rejoice!

This verse says children can make their mom and dad glad. When you choose what is wise and right, it brings joy to the people who love you. Your wise choices can bring joy to the people who love you.

What makes our family happy?
For the grown-up
The verse before says the father of a righteous child “has great joy” (23:24). Where a parent is absent or hard, it widens naturally to grandparents and the grown-ups who care for a child. Say out loud what you are glad about in your child; they rarely hear it enough.
