Day 6 of 31

Learn from the ant

6Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise; 7which having no chief, overseer, or ruler, 8provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

Proverbs 6:6-8

Talk about it

A sluggard is someone who is lazy. Ants have no boss telling them what to do, but they still gather food when it is time. God made the ant a little teacher for us.

Try it today

Do one job today before anyone asks you to.

Ask at dinner

What is one job you could do without being reminded?

For the grown-up

The ant appears again in 30:25 as one of the “little” wise creatures, next to Woo’s rock hyraxes. The point is starting work on your own, at the right time. If you can, watch real ants outside together and count how many carry something.
